Wesley's First 4th and in Wolfforth!

Can you say that fast 3 times? Ok so it's not that hard. Anyway, this year we had a good 4th de July. We went to a little BBQ at the Olive's and then we met up at the Gifford's and caravanned (is that a word?) our way to Wolfforth for the big show!

It was fun. We put blankets and pillows down at a park, laid back and watched as the sky lit up. A couple crazy things happened- first, we were just across the highway from where they were shooting them and we had debris from them flying all around us. We even had a little fire piece land in the grass next to us but the Iversons handed me a bottle of water to extinguish it. The second crazy thing was that some of the older fire works went a little bonkers and exploded super low. Like so low that it set off others and we had a crazy show at street level. But the fire crew had it under control and all were safe. Side note: the reason they were older is because this was the first year in 3 years that we've been able to set off fireworks due to droughts. Yay for rain. (Prayers for those of you who need it. We've been there and know how unnerving it can be.)

I'm so grateful for this beautiful county that I live in. I'm so grateful for the freedoms I enjoy each day and I pray that me and my children and their children and so forth will continue to enjoy them. God bless the USA :)
Savanna was so funny! She kept jumping up with the fireworks and throwing her arms. Aubry called it "interpretive fireworks!"
Oh I love these two...
Some of the lovely friends that came along
Aubry and his kids brought glow sticks and Wesley loved them!
