Today I'm at 13 weeks which means I am officially in my second trimester! Woohoo! I had a doctor's appt today. When I first went to the doctor to schedule appts, I setup my first 3 appts right off the back. They were supposed to go down like this:
1st appt- @ 8 weeks-Blood work and urine test. 1st appt with ultrasound tech.
2nd appt- @ 10 weeks- 1st appt with my nurse. Basic info for preggo days
3rd appt @12 weeks- 1st appt with my actual doctor- Full exam and ultrasound.
Well as most of you can guess, that all didn't go as planned. My 1st appt kept being pushed back because the ultrasound dude was on vacay so I didnt get my appt until I was 10 weeks. Then my 2nd appt happend 4 days later and that's when they did all of the blood work and such. My 3rd appt happened when I was 13 weeks (today) and I was so excited to finally meet with my doctor. Well it turns out that because I'd just had my yearly check up in November and all of my tests came back fine, they didnt need to run any more tests so the Doc skipped out and I saw the nurse again. She just measured me and took a fuzzy ultrasound and then sent me on my way. I spent more time in the waiting room than I did in the actual exam room.
I guess I need to lower my expectations a bit. I'm not the only pregnant girl out there. And I should be grateful that everything is going well and that they DON'T have to run tons of tests and such.
Yeah, Your appointments are really just to measure you and then nothing else. You wait a long time sometimes because the doctor is out at the hospital most of the time with patients or delivering babies. I waited Naked on an exam table once in utah with the door closed for 45 minutes waiting for the doctor to come back and finally just got dressed and walked out, to find the doctor had a patient delivering in the hospital. So yeah, Expect to WAIT longer than anything... glad everythings good!
