Our First Easter Married

Last year was our first Easter together. It was at my parents' house and my mom did an egg hunt just for Travis :) It was hilarious. We all got silly Easter baskets filled with candy. Very cute. And it was about 6 weeks or so before we finally got engaged ;)

This year we did Easter in Kerrville with Trav's parents. Susan, Maggie and I hid eggs in the front yard for William and Savanna to find. Mixed in with the plastic, candy-filled eggs were tons of cascarones. 4 dozen to be exact.

After the first cascarone was smashed on someone's head, it of course turned into an egg fight between Travis, Maggie and Aubry. I guess Travis was getting everyone pretty good because they decided to gang up on him and try and get him. They failed after a few tries so I decided to sneak an egg in my hand and surprise attack him when he ran by me. I was standing on Mimi's round driveway when he came running my way. I stepped out to smash one on his head and that's when it happened. Travis tripped on a flower bed, flew into my leg and took me down with him.

Luckily, me being preggo and all, I caught myself pretty good during the fall and was able to roll as I hit the ground- avoiding the stomach region. Unfortunately, my knee got injured in the whole ordeal, including Travis' middle finger and freshly scraped knee cap. My knee swelled up pretty badly and I couldn't walk on my right leg:/ Luckily, Travis gave me a blessing right then and there and after an afternoon of icing and resting it, I was able to hobble around the next day.

It's been 2 days since the Easter fall and my knee is doing much better and so is Travis' finger and scrapes. Why did I think that I- being pregnant and in my pj's- could/should participate in the egg fight? I have no idea. I guess it's the teenager in me :)

Despite the fall, it was a very happy Easter. We ate yummy food and treats and spent the whole time visiting with family. I was glad we were able to see my parents and Jess and Spence while we were there too. It was an overall good break from Lubbock and school and a wonderful visit with the Moore's and Seago's :)

By the way, Susan actually got the fall on video. She was filming Travis and Aubry chase each other and then BOOM she "caught" the fall! I'll see if she can post it on FB or something:)
